The class of 2026 includes Colin Campbell, Steve Garnham, and the Liwanpo triplets.
TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg has revealed the latest inductees for the Sports Hall of Fame.
The list includes local hockey legend Colin Campbell, receiving Lifetime Achievement Recognition. He has a lengthy history with the NHL; first as a player and then as a head coach, before becoming the league's Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations for more than 25 years. Campbell was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2024
The list also includes Judy, Karen and Christine Liwanpo under the individual athlete category. The Liwanpo triplets are exceptional tennis players and they even won bronze at the Indian Ocean Island Games in 2003.
Remy Donaldson will also be inducted as an individual athlete for his achievements in several sports including swimming, tennis, volleyball and basketball.
The Senior Men’s Tillsonburg Legion Track & Field Club Cross Country Running Team will be inducted under the team category. They won the Ontario Senior Men’s Cross Country team championship and the Canadian Senior Men’s Cross Country team championship in 1985. The team consisted of Ron Becht, Claus Rinne, Rick Cornelissen, Adrian Shorter, Tim Wood, Steve Connor, and Mike King. Dave Mills served as their coach.
Lastly, Steve Garnham will be inducted under the builder category for his contributions to officiating and hockey development in Tillsonburg and beyond. He served as the Referee in Chief for both Tillsonburg Minor Hockey and the Southern Counties Minor Hockey Association for close to two decades.
Details regarding the 2026 induction ceremony have not been released yet.
