We're in for a fair bit of rain over the next few days, along with milder temperatures that will melt the snow.
UTRCA - The water levels are about to rise within the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority.
During a snow survey on Monday, officials reported about 50 to 70 milimetres of water content in the northern portion of the watershed and 15 to 20 milimetres in the southern portion.
Environment Canada is predicting warmer temperatures over the next few days, which will cause the snow to melt. It's also forecasting a fair bit of rain with 5 milimetres today, 5 to 10 milimetres tonight, a chance of showers tomorrow night, and even more showers expected for Saturday.
The conservation authority will be monitoring the situation and it's advising everyone to stay away from local bodies of water in the meantime. The banks will be slippery and the water is also very cold and fast moving, which could be quite dangerous.
Officials are not expecting an serious flooding at this time, aside from the low-lying areas that usually experience flooding.
