Residents of Blandford-Blenheim who need help paying their taxes will be dealt with on a case by case basis in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Rather than offering blanket forgiveness on the interest charged for tax arrears, Blandford-Blenheim Township is taking a more personal approach.
Mayor Mark Peterson says his worries about his constituents goes well beyond a couple of dollars on a tax bill.
"With our tax base, we rely mostly on residential and I am very concerned that with all the people losing their jobs from layoff, unfortunately I am worried a lot of these jobs will not come back at all and definitely I am worried, not only about the Township but the residents as well, not being able to pay their tax bills."
He adds that people with concerns about their tax bills “will be helped on a case by case basis and hopefully we will be able to help them out.”
Peterson says anyone with concerns should contact the Township Office.
