The County of Brant, similar to Oxford County, does not have any reported cases of COVID-19, which was officially declared a pandemic today by the World Health Organization.
BRANT COUNTY - The County of Brant has not reported any cases of COVID-19.
Today the World Health Organization officially declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
National, provincial and local health agencies have assessed the current public health risk associated with Coronavirus disease as low for the general population.
The County of Brant has been updating business continuity plans should COVID-19 challenge our community. They are encouraging local business owners to do the same. Resources for business continuity can be found on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s website: www.chamber.ca/resources/pandemic-preparedness/
The lead local agency for public health matters, including COVID-19, is the Brant County Health Unit. The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) continues to actively monitor the situation in collaboration with provincial and national health agencies, local hospital and community agencies.
This message falls in line with the latest update for Oxford County from Southwestern Public Health which came out on Monday. They note the general risk to the public is low and we do not have any reported cases in Oxford County, or anywhere in the Southwestern Public Health region.
You can find more information on precautions you should be taking online here from the Canada Public Health Agency or online here with the Ontario Ministry of Health.
