It appears police were tipped off about the homicides in Woodstock and London from staff at the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto.
WOODSTOCK - A report from the Toronto Star indicates that police were tipped of about the Caressant Care murders by staff at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto.
Wendy Gillis of the Star reports an unnamed source saying the CAMH staff tipped off Toronto Police last month which launched the investigation. Elizabeth Tracy Mae Wettlaufer was at the CAMH last month where she allegedly shared the information. Toronto Police then contacted Woodstock and London Police because none of the crimes were committed in Toronto.
Yesterday Wettlaufer was charged with 8 counts of first degree murder. Wettlaufer gave up her nursing licence on Sept. 30th and was arrested on Monday night.
