It promises to be a busy long weekend for camping in the region.
Campsites are filling up fast for the Victoria Day Long Weekend at our local conservation areas.
Pittock is already full and will only have 15 non-reserve sites available on a first come first serve basis. At Fanshawe and Wildwood they are out of electric sites, however they have plenty of non electric sites available. Marketing Specialist at the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority Steve Sauder tells Heart FM they will have fireworks at Fanshawe on Monday.
"This is an annual event, the Fanshawe Optimists put on a huge fireworks display, the largest one in the region and that is on Monday May 3rd at dusk, just a great way to finish off the long weekend."
He adds the conservation areas are popular for camping, boating, biking, hiking, swimming, fishing and picnicking.
