Police say 51-year-old Peter Hubert Croves is facing a list of charges, including five counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
WOODSTOCK - A 51-year-old is facing a list of charges, after Woodstock Police responded to reports of a man making threats online.
Officers say Peter Hubert Croves was arrested on Peel Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. He has been charged with five counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, one count of uttering threats to damage property, one count of resisting a peace officer, one count of mischief, and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
He remains in police custody at this time and police say there is no threat to public safety.
Croves was one of the six candidates running for the Mayor's seat in the municipal election on Monday. We have received multiple reports suggesting that the alleged threats were connected to the election results.
