Tickets are now available for the pancake breakfast and second annual Chili Cook Off for the South Gate Centre
WOODSTOCK - On February 2nd Woodstock's own Chilly Charlie will let us know how much longer we have to wait for winter to be over at the South Gate Centre.
The centre is celebrating groundhog day with a breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the centre. Charlie will look for his shadow around 8:15 a.m. and if he sees his shadow it means we will only have 6 more weeks of winter. South Gate Operations Manager Felise Jones says after the breakfast they will have the second annual Chilly Charlie Cook Off from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
"So the breakfast itself, this is going to be its 14th year and it is a big deal in Woodstock. Of course we have our own Chilly Charlie who will be looking for his shadow. After the breakfast we have seven local businesses who are going to compete with their best chili. A panel of judges have been named for the chili cook off and the people choice award for the chili will be selected from ballots."
You can buy tickets to the pancake breakfast at a cost of only $3 and children 5 and under are free and tickets to the chili cook off are only $10. You can buy your tickets from the South Gate Centre now.
