Christine Elliott will be in Woodstock on Friday just two days after a heated final leadership debate in Ottawa.
WOODSTOCK - The four candidates vying for the top seat in the Ontario PC party squared off in the final leadership debate.
The party is in chaos right now as they search to find a replacement for Patrick Brown who was forced to resign after sexual misconduct accusations. Brown made things even more awkward by joining the leadership race before finally stepping down for good last week.
The candidates talked about a toxic P-C party culture with allegations of corruption, bullying and electoral fraud. Christine Elliott was forced to defend her appointment as Ontario's health care ombudsman under the Liberal party in a heated exchange with Doug Ford. Caroline Mulroney stated she was the only one with a clear plan fix things.
Also in the race is Ontario Sex Ed opponent Tanya Granic Allen who chastised the other three candidates and the party for not standing up for Patrick Brown. The candidates did not pull any punches last night and at times it was very tense.
Local MPP Ernie Hardeman has thrown his support behind Christine Elliott. He is bringing her to Woodstock on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Southgate Centre for a meet and greet. You can RSVP to this event by emailing oxford4christine@gmail.com.
