The managers of a future Woodstock restaurant, bar and office are pleased following city council on Thursday. Council voted to withdraw an appeal to the liquor license for Station 3. Woodstock's Police Chief voiced some security concerns based on the size of the establishment, and proximity to residential homes. (Henry at Victoria St. South) Brea Smith is the operations manager of Station 3 and she says some of the recommendations put forward to council were extreme and unjust. Recommendations included a fence, surveillance system that police could have access to on demand. Smith talked about the impact on the business due to the appeal. "We'd like to open it as soon as we can. It's very difficult to do, unless we have a liquor license. I'm glad to see council agreed and now we can proceed." There is still no official opening date for Station 3, but Smith said council's decision will help moving forward.
