The tournament will be held on June 11th and all proceeds will go towards Andrew's Legacy.
LONDON- Local ball teams can sign up for a co-ed slo pitch tournament in London and help support a great local cause at the same time.
All of the proceeds from the tournament on June 11th will go towards Andrew's Legacy. Andrew's Legacy was started in the memory of 15 year old Andrew Stoddart who passed away suddenly while playing soccer in Kintore last year. His mother Cara Schmidt tells Heart FM why they are having the tournament at Dreamers Ball Park.
"We are donating an AED to Dreamers for use of the facilities for the day, Andrew has played at Dreamers before, we participate in an event called save the Tata's which raises money for breat cancer and Andrew has played in that tournament 3 times."
All of the money raised at the tournament will go towards purchasing AED's for local sports fields in the area and you might even learn how to save a life.
"We're just trying to raise awareness and raise some finances to purchase more AED's so we can give them out into the community, we will have local EMS on hand as well doing CPR and AED demonstartions, it is a great day to come out with family and friends so that we can all save a life."
You can find out how to sign up on the Andrew Stoddart Facebook page or on their web site.
