It's time for college and university students to head off to school and try a brand new learning experience.
WOODSTOCK - Many young adults from Oxford will be leaving home for the first time to head to university or college this September.
While branching out can be great, post secondary education is a big change from high school. Heart FM spoke with the Manager of Continuing Education at the Fanshawe Campus in Woodstock Lisa Wells who talks about some of the differences between the two.
"Students will notice they will have more responsibility for their learning and they will notice that no one is checking up on them."
Wells says the best advice she can give towards achieving student success is to attend all of your classes.
"One is to attend all of your classes, stay on top of all your assignments - a 15 week term may seem like a long time but it goes by very quickly - start your assignments when they are assigned. Don't be afraid to ask for help; we have lots of resources available at the college that are there to make sure you are successful so make sure you use them if you are having troubles."
Wells says you can access your schedules ahead of time and you can find out now what books you will need for the upcoming semester.
