A total of 8 commercial vehicles were taken off the road during a blitz on the 401 in Middlesex Centre yesterday.
MIDDLESEX CENTRE - West Region OPP along with the Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Finance conducted a commercial motor vehicle enforcement yesterday on the 401 in Middlesex Centre.
A total of 25 Commercial Motor Vehicles were stopped during the blitz. 17 CMV's were inspected and 8 of those vehicles were placed out of service due to safety compliance violations.
The OPP issued a total of 26 Highway Traffic Act offences within the traffic enforcement initiative.
The object of this initiative is to increase public safety, improve CMV safety and reduce the number of potential incidents involving CMVs. The OPP conducts enforcement specifically pertaining to CMV equipment safety standards and CMV operators/owners qualifications/actions.
