Oxford OPP have released the name of the man killed in a single vehicle crash over the weekend. Police say 50 year-old John Vankruistum of Burford died when his pickup truck left the road, struck a hydro pole and a tree. He was travelling north on Blenheim Road south of Oxford Road 8 around 3:30 pm when the crash occurred. A male passenger was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Kitchener where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision. OPP say it was unfortunately a deadly weekend with nine people being killed on Ontario roadways.
