Head down to Pittock Conservation Area to witness dragonboat racing till 4pm today.
WOODSTOCK - Pittock Conservation Area will be full once again today for the annual Dragonboat Festival.
39 Dragonboats teams from all over will be facing off today with races starting at 9am and running non-stop till 4pm.
Festival Coordinator, Dave Harris says there is a reason to be excited to be a spectator this year.
"So it all happens at the Pittock Conservation Area. We've secured no charge entry for spectators this year which is a great boost. So people can come and go throughout the day and they could pop in for an hour or two and watch some of the racing and see the excitement."
Harris says funds raised will help others
"We divide the proceeds up to help fund different things that we do in the community and internationally. One of the biggest fundraisers that the rotary has is raising money for polio. We have a polio plus program trying to eradicate polio around the world so we might use some of the money for that. We have other international projects that we spend money on and we spend money locally in the community."
