Oxford County's Human Services Department is getting ready to introduce new child and family centres to the area.
OXFORD COUNTY - Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centres are coming to Oxford County.
This comes after the Ministry of Education announced they will be transitioning funding to create a more integrated system for children under the age of 6.
According to Warden David Mayberry, studies will be conducted in order to develop a programming model.
"We want to make sure that the model actually fits the needs of the people in Oxford rather than someone's brain wave of how it should work."
Mayberry tells Heart FM it could still be awhile before the centres are operational.
"I'm thinking that it's the next six months or a year for the study and then sometime after that. I'm guessing it will be late 2017 at the earliest before we see any sort of concrete ideas coming forward."
The county's Human Services Department will be in charge of the centres in the area.
