Three weeks ago, two seniors were injured after a break and enter at their home in Paris. On Monday one of the victims passed away.
PARIS - An elderly person has died, two weeks after being injured during a break and enter in Paris.
OPP says both elderly people inside the home were assaulted during the break and enter on Sunday October 27th. A Brant County OPP officer was also injured, trying to arrest the 18 year old suspect in the case.
On Monday one of the elderly victims passed away. A post-mortem examination was conducted November 13, 2019 at Hamilton General Hospital to determine the cause of death.
The 18 year old remains in police custody and is charged with several offences including aggravated assault. No word at this time if they will be facing additional charges, now that one of the victims has passed.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Brant County Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Brad Collins of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), are continuing the investigation.
