Police say someone threw a cat out of a moving pickup truck in the Frogmore area Friday afternoon.

NORFOLK - An investigation is underway after someone was spotted throwing a cat out of a moving vehicle in Norfolk County.

Police say it happened close to County Road 45 and County Road 28 in the Frogmore area, at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The cat passed away afterward and the vehicle has been described as a white Ford F-150 pickup truck.

In a video posted on the OPP West Region X page, Constable Andrew Gamble had this to say.

"It is hard to imagine that we live in a society that someone thinks this is an acceptable behaviour. I'll make it nice and simple; if you have an animal in your possession, whether it is a pet or not, you are responsible for it. If you can't be responsible for it, you need to find someone who is. Throwing it out the window and leaving it at the side are road are not acceptable options."

Anyone with information regarding this case should call the Norfolk OPP at 1-800-310-1122. You can also submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
