Maureen Ralph was given a plaque for her 25 consecutive years of service to the Municipality of East Zorra Tavistock.
EAST ZORRA TAVISTOCK - The Deputy Mayor of East Zorra Tavistock was honoured at the 2016 Ontario West Municipal Conference in London.
Maureen Ralph was given a plaque for her 25 consecutive years of service to the Municipality of East Zorra Tavistock. Ralph tells Heart FM she was honoured to receive the plaque from her peers and talks about some of the highlights over the past 25 years.
"Well I have certainly had the enjoyment of working with several councils over that time period and as far as highlights I guess the transition into the Oxford Community Police was a major highlight along the way, we built a new arena several years ago in the Village of Tavistock and those were two fairly significant events."
Ralph started out as a councillor for 6 years and is currently in her 19th year serving as Deputy Mayor.
"Well I think it's working with people, it's the ability to help people with concerns, problems in the community, being able to see some of their challenges come through to fruition and working with them and just making the community a better place for everybody to live."
