A 29 year old Norwich man has died following a fatal crash on Ebenezer Road in South West Oxford Township.
SOUTH WEST OXFORD - One man has died following a fatal crash on Ebenezer Road in South West Oxford Township.
Oxford OPP were called to the scene around 5:30 this morning after getting word of a single vehicle crash on Ebenezer Road at Duffy Line, just north of Mount Elgin. The westbound vehicle lost control entered the south ditch, becoming airborne and hitting a tree before crossing Duffy Line.
The South West Oxford Fire Department were called in to try to pry the man from the vehicle and Air Ambulance was on scene, but did not transport. The man was taken by EMS to a local area hospital where he was declared deceased. The OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Team is attending the scene to assist with the investigation. The deceased has been identified as 29 year old Roger Belanger from Norwich.
Ebenezer Road between Plank Line and Zenda Line and Duffy Line between McBeth Road and Mount Elgin Road was closed for over 7 hours today to allow for the police investigation. They have since been re-opened.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. We will provide you with more information as soon as it becomes available.
