AMTB in Woodstock is getting over $12.73-million dollars in Federal Funding.
WOODSTOCK - ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks Americas Ltd. or AMTB, in Woodstock is getting over $12.73-million dollars in Federal Funding.
North London MPP Peter Fragiskatos made the announcement today after touring the plant. ATMB is being recognized for the work they are doing with their advanced technology development. The work has resulted in lighter weight steel and stronger auto parts. The Federal grant money will be used to adopt advanced manufacturing technologies. It will also be used to help retrofit their 93,000-square foot facility.
With their recent expansion the company has also created some new jobs in Woodstock. Fragiskatos says this is another example of the innovation that's happening in SW Ontario. Thrilled to see this agenda at play in the region.
"Ontario's manufacturers continue to take on the challenges of an increasingly global and competitive marketplace. This investment in AMTB's world-leading process that creates stronger, lighter auto-parts is creating more high-quality jobs for Canadians and is increasing the global competitiveness of our auto-part manufacturers."
Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario echoed those comments.
"The key to securing Canada's place in this new industrial age is innovation. Today's announcement is a clear example of the Government of Canada's commitment to innovation in manufacturing and our commitment to continued economic growth and job creation for the middle class and those wishing to join the middle class."
