Local fitness trainers are working together to raise funds for DASO and the Kendall Basketball Courts project.
WOODSTOCK - Some local fitness trainers are flexing their muscles to support two separate causes in the Friendly City.
Personal Trainer Nathan Picknell says a group of 11 trainers have come together to create a calendar and raise funds through their sales. "The whole reason behind it was to raise money for the Domestic Abuse Service Oxford (DASO) and for the Kendall Courts Basketball Project that we are currently working on with the city which is to hopefully have two basketball courts included into the construction of the Woodall Sports Complex."
The calendars will retail for $20 each and are currently going to be sold at Details Garden Spa and Beaches N Dreams. Picknell says they are looking for other local businesses to sell the calendars and if anyone is interested in getting involved or purchasing a calendar, they can contact him at 226-228-2784 or picknellfitness@gmail.com.
100 percent of the funds raised through the sales of the calendars will be divided equally between the two causes which Picknell feels are both very worthy of the communities support. "(DASO) It's a super import organization, every time they take somebody in they are literally saving a life so I think they need a lot of help over there. It's important to support organizations like that. And then the youth in Woodstock, I think they we need more basketball courts because it's a growing sport in Woodstock."
