Sobeys in Woodstock and Foodland in Ingersoll and Woodstock are doing the quarter matching program right now for Food for Friends.
WOODSTOCK/INGERSOLL - The Food for Friends Quarter Matching program has started in Woodstock and Ingersoll this year.
Every quarter you donate at the till at the Foodland stores in Woodstock and Ingersoll and the Sobeys in Woodstock will be matched by grocery chains. Director of Operation Sharing Stephen Giuliano tells Heart FM every quarter you donate from now until Thanksgiving, is really donating 50 cents.
"Every quarter raised goes directly back on the cards to serve those less fortunate, there is no administrative fee, we make that very clear that every time people donate $25 cents or more the money is going directly towards feeding those in need in our community. It's always a question mark as to how much money will can put on those cards to support those less fortunate individuals and families because it is based on donations but we have been successful and what is really exciting is this thanksgiving will mark a decade, 10 years that Food for Friends at Operation Sharing in Woodstock has been in existence helping the less fortunate."
The quarter matching program runs until Thanksgiving and the corporate office is willing to match donations up to $5,000.
