Thousands of bikers including many from Oxford County are expected to flock to Port Dover for the annual tradition.
PORT DOVER - Tomorrow is Friday the 13th and bikers from Oxford County will be heading to Port Dover.
Thousands of people are expected to roll into Dover once again this year as they celebrate their annual tradition. Norfolk OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk has this message for folks in Oxford who will be heading down tomorrow.
"We want everyone to come down to Norfolk County have a great time, you come down here you forge friendships but if you plan on drinking do not plan on driving, we will have an increased police presence to handle any issues that may arise and more importantly everyone coming into dover will go through a R.I.D.E check and when they are leaving as well we will have roaming R.I.D.E. checks set up at all of the exits."
Sanchuk says they also want to remind motorists to watch out for the bikes tomorrow because you will see plenty of them on the roads and highways.
"And the motoring public are being asked to be extra vigilant and to take a little more time when making manoeuvres such as signalling turns and checking blind spots, vehicle operators are encouraged to check their mirrors frequently, in order to be more aware of activity around their vehicle, this simple safety skill while driving will help to prevent unnecessary collisions and increase road safety for everyone."
