James Murphy is hoping to make a difference in the Tillsonburg community if he is elected into a council position this fall.
TILLSONBURG - A local carpenter is entering Tillsonburg's political scene.
James Murphy was raised in the small town and now he's running for a councillor position.
"I want to get involved in the community and I want to make it better. I just feel like I am a natural leader and I can bring my skills to the table and help the town."
He is planning on forming his platform over the next couple of weeks.
"I'm going to go door to door and ask them (residents) what they want and we'll see what my platform will be. I plan on having it ready for October 2nd on our debate."
He says the big question will be if people want Tillsonburg to grow or stay small. Personally, Murphy would like to see the town grow and bring more jobs to the area.
