This year Big Brothers Big Sisters will be changing their annual Bowl and Curl for Kids Sake to Play for Kids Sake. They will have Bowling in Woodstock and in Ingersoll and curling in Tillsonburg.
WOODSTOCK / TILLSONBURG / INGERSOLL - Big Brothers Big Sisters is switching up their annual Bowl and Curl for Kids Sake.
This year they are mixing the events with three communities Woodstock, Ingersoll, and Tillsonburg to bring Play for Kids Sake.
Resource Development Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters Liz Wismer-VanMeer explains why they made the event.
"Many people would be firmilliar with bowl for kids sake and curl for kids sake so those events were held at different times throughout the county by the two separate agencies but now that we've come together as one we've brought them together to introduce Play for Kids Sake this year so we're offering bowling in Woodstock and Ingersoll and Curling in Tillsonburg."
They will have Bowling in Woodstock on February 5th, 7th, and 8th Bowling in Ingersoll on the 7th and 8th and curling in Tillsonburg on the 8th.
All refreshments will be included at the bowling events like pizza and other foods, and their theme for this year is Go for the Gold.
VanMeer says the event is a great outing for Bigs and Littles.
"Sometimes we have some teams for instance for curling will have a business to sponsor the team, it's $500 to put the team in and they'll say you know what invite some of your matches to come out and some Bigs and Littles to come out and curl for the day so we have that opportunity. Like i said it's $500 that covers all the costs for you to curl for the day you get a hot lunch as well, for bowling there is no registration fee but we do ask that everyone raises a minimum of $50 for that event, but we do have some awesome prizes for your fundraising incentive."
