Good Beginnings has been celebrating National Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day all week with a county-wide scavenger hunt.
OXFORD COUNTY - Make sure to give an extra thank you when you drop off your kids this morning.
Executive Director at Good Beginnings Mary Ann Hogan says today is National Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day.
"It is a day to show our appreciation for the dedicated work that they do with children, for children and their families, as well as each other as co-workers and our communities as well."
Today is the official appreciation day, but it is actually a week long celebration. Hogan says Good Beginnings has teamed up with Oxford County to host a scavenger hunt as a way to celebrate, using the GooseChase smartphone app.
"Teams have been created throughout all of Oxford County and we can see how each team is doing. It is a fun and engaging event. We have been giving out prizes throughout the week, it will end on Friday. Oxford County has also provided gift cards to child care workers to have a free lunch as a way to say thank you."
Hogan notes that ECE's and child care workers are crucial in helping with a child's development.
