The Woodstock Police Service Containment Team secured the local Wal-Mart for 10 minutes today searching for a wanted person. The whole incident turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.
WOODSTOCK - You may have noticed a heavy police presence at the Wal-Mart in Woodstock today.
Police were called to the store just before 2:00 pm. They believed that a wanted party was inside. The wanted person is currently charged with weapons offences, so in order to take the proper precautions, the members of the WPS Containment team responded.
The Containment Team secured the store until a proper search could be conducted. It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity and the incident lasted approximately 10 minutes.
