Hemophilia Ontario hopes to raise $10,000 at a golf tournament in Ingersoll to send kids with bleeding disorders to camp.
INGERSOLL - Hemophilia Ontario is gearing up for their 9th annual Golf Tournament.
All of the money raised at the tournament at the Ingersoll Golf Club on July 16th will go towards Hemophilia Ontario programs and support services. Right now over 300 children, youth, and adults suffer with inherited bleeding disorders in Ontario. Provincial Service Coordinator with Hemophilia Ontario Matthew Maynard tells Heart FM the money raised will go towards sending kids with bleeding disorders to a camp they run on Lake Huron.
"We have both volunteers and staff, but also our medical team from London Health Sciences is part of the camp staff to make sure the kids have a great time and experience the camp but at the same time they can get any injury or anything taken care of as well."
Maynard says they are hoping to raise $10,000 and says they do offer a few incentives for people who sign up early.
"We have a great early bird registration and that gets you into the draw this year for an iPad and the early bird registration this year is available until June 6th."
