A committee is being formed to look after the Hickson Trail
HICKSON - Hickson is looking for some trail blazers for a new committee.
The township is currently looking for eager people to join in the Hickson Trail Committee. Corporate Services Manager / Clerk Will Jaques says getting involved is easy. "The committee is meeting next on Wednesday July the 8th at 7:30 p.m. at the township office which is at 90 Lovey Street in Hickson. From there they're going to be organizing, they're going to be electing the positions on the committee, and just starting the committee off, and setting the committee down the right road."
The committee will be responsible for planning the future of the trail, any fundraising needs that arise, and monitoring and maintaining the trail. Jaques says they will be needing people with a variety of skill sets in order to be successful.
There are no minimum qualifications to be considered - all they ask is that you be interested in the trail, and serving the community.
"Physical activity and getting outside and enjoying the rural environment it certainly important," says Jaques. "And this trail is an asset to the township and the residents that are able to use it."
To get involved all you need to do is attended the meeting on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the township office on Lovey Street.
