SCOTLAND - A 61-year-old has been charged with assaulting a peace officer in Scotland.
The Brant OPP was called out to a home on Mount Pleasant Road with a bylaw officer at around 1:20 p.m. yesterday afternoon.
They were confronted by the homeowner while they were there, and the person was carrying a weapon at the time. No one was hurt and the man went back inside his home. That's when the OPP called in the Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit, and Crisis Negotiators to assist.
The man was later arrested without incident and he has a court date in Brantford next month.
