Alexandra Hospital is now accepting donations in memory and in honour of loved ones to light up some special trees.
INGERSOLL - Alexandra Hospital is getting ready to light up the sky in honour and in memory of loved ones.
The Annual Tree of Lights event is coming up at the Ingersoll hospital.
Leading up to the event people are encouraged to donate $10 and a bulb on the tree will be lit up in memory or in honour of a loved one. There are also bulbs available on the Canon Griffin Memorial Tree for $50, and stars can be bought for $1,000.
Executive Director Robin Schultz says it might not feel like much, but that money helps to buy new equipment and keep the hospital going.
"This usually raises us between $25,000 and $30,000 so people will say sometimes, 'It's only a $10 donation,' but it's amazing how much difference they can make."
Even if you cannot donate to the cause, everyone is invited to the tree lighting on Sunday, November 13th at 6:30 p.m. according to Schultz.
"We have carol singing, we light the trees, we have some refreshments, and Santa Claus is in attendance, we have some prize draws. It's a real family event and it's free - you don't have to make a donation, you can just come out to the hospital."
Heart FM's Dan Henry will be MC'ing the official tree lighting.
