The two drivers got out of their vehicles after colliding to speak to one another, when suddenly a tanker truck crashed into them, killing a 40 year old man from Ingersoll.
NEWMARKET - A 40 year old Ingersoll man is dead following a terrible collision involving three commercial vehicles on Highway#401 in Newcastle Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. in the east end of the GTA at Mill Street, closing off most of the highway for several hours.
OPP Constable Kerry Schmidt explains that the original two drivers of the crash got out of their vehicles and were speaking to one another when a tanker truck collided with them.
"The victim was outside of his vehicle when the third vehicle struck the second truck pinning him in between some vehicles and killing him as a result. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family at this time."
Police have not released the name of the deceased driver.
