INGERSOLL - Ingersoll is home to one of the top three small museums in the Ontario Choice Awards.
The people of Oxford County showed their support by voting for the Ingersoll Cheese and Agriculture Museum in the category of top small museum/art gallery/historic site in the Ontario's Choice Awards hosted by Attractions Ontario.
Curator Scott Gillies says they were up against some very stiff competition to even get to this point.
"We were up against the Region of Waterloo museum which is technically the largest community museum in Ontario. The competition was a little stiff but it seems that the small town garnered the support."
Now as a top three finalist, the Ingersoll Cheese and Agriculture Museum is pitted against two other amazing locations.
"The other two are other small museums - the Diefenbunker outside of Ottawa and Muskoka Lakes Museum in Port Carling."
The winner will be announced during a summit in Ottawa next month.
The Oxford County Cheese Trail is also up for an award in the Culinary Tourism of Excellence category.
