As people begin pulling their bikes out of storage, the Ingersoll Safe Cycling Committee is getting ready for a busy time of year.
INGERSOLL - Plenty of people will be riding on two wheels this summer in Ingersoll.
The Ingersoll Safe Cycling Committee has a number of events coming up in the month of June and have created a calendar that includes a number of group rides. Marketing Outreach and Secretary Tim Lobzun tells Heart FM why they started this committee.
"Our goal is to promote cycling in Ingersoll, we have a target and want Ingersoll to be a bronze certified cycling community. Last year we got an honourable mention and we are hoping by 2017 to get a bronze but you have to have certain amenities and we are working on getting those."
Lobzun also wants to remind everyone to come out to their Family Safe Cycling Day on Sunday June 5th.
"And we will have a treasure hunt for the kids, it's all related to cycling we will also have Profix from Canadian Tire, they will be doing minor tune ups, they are also going to be at the Fusion Youth Centre on the Saturday because Ingersoll doesn't really have a lot of places where we can actually fix bikes."
