The judge has heard all the arguments, and Justice Kelly Gorman will rule at 2:45 this afternoon on the sentence to convicted drunk driver, Bonita Purtill. Crown Attorney Steve Guiler is asking for a 7-year sentence. 6-years for the impaired driving and criminal negligence offenses, and one additional year for refusing to provide a breath sample. Defense Lawyer, Peter Kratzman asked Justice Gorman for a 2-4-year sentence, plus extra credit for time already service in pre-sentence custody at the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre.
