Key witness in the murder trial of John Robinson, Amy Gilbert was asked tough questions this afternoon. Gilbert said little as she was questioned by Defence Anik Morrow. The cross examination started with questions about Gilbert's past. She agreed that after she broke up with her husband her life has been a continual downward spiral. She said, "living on the streets is hard, of course I still deal with my alcohol." Morrow took Gilbert through her past relationships noting that Robinson never seemed jealous of them. In relation to the now deceased victim, Clifford Fair, Gilbert says Robinson did seem jealous. Morrow continued to question Gilbert about Clifford Fair and then asked her to recollect the night he died. Gilbert struggled, not remembering much. She admitted, "we both got caught." An excerpt from Gilbert taken from the police interview back in November of 2008 read: "He didn't mean to do it, he only wanted to teach him a lesson." Court will resume Monday at 10am.
