Police have released the identity of the man killed in this mornings crash on the 401 near Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - One person is dead and three people are injured after a nasty collision, involving several vehicles on the 401 today just outside of Woodstock.
Police say the wreckage started with a two vehicle crash on the West bound lane of the 401 near Foldens Line around 7 am this morning. Shortly after the initial crash they had a multi vehicle collision on the East Bound lane. That crash proved fatal as one of the vehicles hit a pedestrian who was actually a pedestrian from the initial crash in the Westbound lane. Constable Lisa Narancsik tells Heart FM they are still trying to determine how the pedestrian crossed the median.
"I'm not sure if he got out of the car or if he was ejected, we are still trying to figure that one out."
The deceased has been identified as 55 year old Terry Child's of Kitchener. Three other people were taken to the hospital as a result of the collisions and the highway was closed for 6 hours today.
An investigation in the collisions is ongoing and we will provide you with more information when it becomes available.
