Operation Sharing is collecting backpacks and school supplies for their Knapsacks for Kids program
Operation Sharing is looking for your help as they are in the midst of their annual Knapsacks for Kids program.
Since 2003 the organization has helped local families in Oxford get ready for back to school by providing them with new backpacks full of supplies for the upcoming school year. Each year they help about 300 families with the backpacks. Coordinator of the program Caren Bright tells Heart FM why they offer this program year after year.
Bright says they wouldn't be able to do this program without the generosity of the community who helps provide the new knapsacks every year. Right now they are still accepting cash and cheque donations or you can donate a new backpack - they need ones for all ages and both genders. You can help out by calling Operation Sharing at 519-539-3361 or stop by their location at College Ave Church in Woodstock.
