Leon's in Woodstock has donated 75 brand new coats to the Coats for Kids Campaign run by Operation Sharing.
WOODSTOCK - Leons in Woodstock has made a huge donation to the Operation Sharing Coats for Kids Campaign.
Coats for Kids collects winter clothing and donates it back to those less fortunate in our community every year. Co-owner of Leons Roger Banghart says they wanted to do something nice to give back to the community.
"We were able to acquire 75 brand new coats for kids, from newborn to 10 years old and I contacted Heart FM because they are so involved in the community and they are always doing good things so I knew they would know what to do with the coats."
Co-coordinator of Coats for Kids Marilyn Schmiedl says they have been blown away by the donations this year.
"I have no idea how many we have collected so far because the donations just keep coming all the time, people are even coming to the side door of the church, we have boxes at different locations so it is really hard to keep track."
Operation Sharing will be distributing the winter clothing this Friday from 9 am until 5 pm and again from 6-8 pm and then again on Saturday from 8 am to noon at the College Avenue United Church. The winter clothing is available to anyone in need and they do have large selection of coats for babies, kids and adults.
Operation Sharing accepting last minute donations for all winter clothing: Coats, gloves, hats, boots, ski pants, etc.
To Donate coats and clothing items you can drop the off at: Giant Tiger, Foodland, Sobey's, Leon's Woodstock, Local Church's and several schools.
