May is Defeat Duchenne month for Jesse's Journey, and there are many events across the province. But one event especially stands out: "Louie's Grandpa Walks to Defeat Duchenne." Londoner Bob Facca's 4-year-old grandson Louis is afflicted with the disease. And that's why Facca has planned a 500-kilometer journey from Owen Sound to London. Facca told Heart FM the support has been incredible. "The public has been tremendous, one fellow drove past us turned around and came back and donated some money." There has been over 100-thousand dollars raised so far. All the money raised will go towards finding a cure for Duchenne's. "Do not shy away from a problem. If there is a family problem you just have to solve the problem," said Facca when asked about what he hopes people take away from his walk. Facca arrived in Woodstock Saturday and will wrap up his journey in London on May 30th. For more information about the walk or to make a donation visit jessesjourney.com
