Oxford County is hoping to solve a mold problem at the Woodingford Lodge Long Term Care homes in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
Mould has been discovered at the Woodingford Lodge Long Term Care homes in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
The mold was originally discovered in the floor at the Tillsonburg long term care home. About two months later they found a smaller amount in Ingersoll. Warden David Mayberry tells Heart FM they are trying to get to the bottom of this.
"Right now we are doing the investigation and the request from Public Works to County council was for $60,000 that we hadn't budgeted to begin this investigation to discover why is the mold showing up now, what's happened, there has been no flooding in either parts of Woodingford Lodge."
Mayberry says they want staff to bring back a report on how they fix this problem and make sure the mold doesn't come back. He says their number one priority is the safety and well being of the residents.
"The health and well being of the residents of those lodges are paramount, we have equipment in there to make sure that none of the mold is creating any kind of health issues and we have had meetings in both Ingersoll and Tillsonburg now explaining what the issue is."
Mayberry says the County is hopeful they will be able to fix the problem and make sure it doesn't happen again.
