A successful fundraiser means the start of a campaign for the Park Place Theatre
INGERSOLL - After 25 years, Park Place Theatre needs a new roof.
The Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts has begun their fundraising campaign with FUNdRAISE the ROOF.
The event proved to be a success as they made between 700 and 1000 dollars.
Publicity Director Jim Konopetski says they had an unexpected guest.
"We had a really wonderful evening. It was interrupted by a bat that made it's way into the auditorium which added to the spontaneity of the event, but they carried on undeterred and we had a wonderful night."
It is estimated that the new roof will cost between $30 000 and $40 000.
Konopetski says their next fundraiser will feature a band.
"On September the eighth we have a wonderful celtic folk band called Poor Angus. They're making an appearance for one night at the Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts. Tickets are only $30 and once again proceeds from that are going towards our roof."
