The Woodstock Fire Department responded to an early morning fire on William Street.
WOODSTOCK - An early morning fire has caused an estimated $30,000 worth of damage to a William street residence. Public Information Coordinator for the Woodstock Fire Department, Lisa Woods said there were no injuries, "We got a call of fire at 3:38 am this morning, crews arrived and the fire was contained to one room, occupants were alerted by smoke alarms and were able to evacuate." When emergency services arrived on the scene, two occupants of the house were outside. "Every second in a fire counts so working smoke alarms do save lives."
Despite confining the fire to one room, Woods says there was significant smoke damage. The Woodstock Fire Department is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire today.
