Some of the best shuffleboard players in the country will be descending on the Friendly City for a national tournament.
WOODSTOCK - Over 200 of some of the best shuffleboard players in the world will be in Woodstock for a National Tournament.
It will be at Cowan Park starting on May 30th and run until June 2nd. It will feature players from Canada and the US.
Jim Corbeil, the Vice President of the Canadian National Shuffleboard Association says the tournament will feature some locals and professionals.
"Larry Ellison from Woodstock here and myself from Woodstock - in fact I am playing with Glen Peltier (Canada), the best known highest point getting shuffleboard player in the world."
Professionals Henry Strong (Canada) and Earl Ball (USA) will also be participating in the tournament.
The amateurs will be playing May 30th with their finals being on the 31st. The professionals will be playing on June 1st with their finals being on the 2nd. There's at least $1,350 in prize money up for grabs this year.
Last year 148 people participated in the tournament.
