WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Vets are back in action tonight.
They're at home to face Ayr after their last home game came against Tavistock, which also saw them collect over 300 bears in their annual Teddy Bear Toss.
Head coach Darren Young says they feel good about being a part of the initiative.
"We want to do things for the community, to help benefit the community and not only for our organization but for our players to teach them the right way to live and help those that are in need. So it's good for our kids to learn those things."
They're riding a four-game losing streak ahead of tonight's matchup against Ayr, before traveling to Delhi tomorrow. Their last victory came against Wellesley on November 15th, winning 4-3.
Young says they just need to stick to playing their game.
"The guys have done a pretty good job of just staying to the course and just coming to work on Tuesday's practice and doing their job and going out on Friday. and things don't always go out right, every good team goes through these things."
He adds although the past four games haven't gone their way, they have been playing competitive hockey against their opponents. He says they're looking forward to getting back out there this weekend to play a very good Ayr team that's playing well.
Tonight's puck drop is at 7:45 pm and tomorrow's game versus Delhi is at 8:00 pm.
