A group that oversees 1.4-billion dollars worth of tourism has made the move to Woodstock. Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation opened its new office in Woodstock this week. You'll find their new headquarters on Dundas St. Executive Director Jim Hudson says Woodstock is one of the best locations in the region for access. "Woodstock is very convenient. It's very close to the 401, so that ribbon of highway, 401, 402 and 403 that ties our region together is right on our doorstep, and VIA comes through here." The Tourism Corporation is committed to growing the tourism industry in the region, and will be focused on festivals, motorcycle tourism, wineries and culinary tourism. Hudson says it's all about job creation. "Our goal is to create a lot more jobs. I know in some parts of Southwestern Ontario we've seen manufacturing jobs decline. Our goal is to replace those with tourism jobs."
