For the first time in 30 years, the township of Norwich will be getting a more thorough look at their roadways.
NORWICH - For the first time in 30 years the Township of Norwich will complete a comprehensive road needs study.
Council voted in favour of the study at their last council meeting. It will cost between $23 000 and $26 000 to have the study done. Norwich Mayor Larry Martin says council will use the information to get a better idea of which roads needs the most work in the Township. "It's basically a road map of our roads and tells us what we should be looking at first and it gives us information, that you know, why are we doing this road and not that road and now we will be able to look at a document that tells us this is why we are here and not there."
Martin says the study should be completed in time for the Fall and council we be able to refer to it when they start working on the 2016 budget. Martin says the last time a comprehensive study was done for Norwich was in 1985 and they were supposed to be doing it every five years but council decided against moving forward with the studies in 1990.
