The money raised will help purchase supplies so Victoria's Quilts Canada can make homemade quilts for people with cancer.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Woodstock/Oxford branch of Victoria's Quilts Canada is about to host an online auction, just in time for the holiday season.
It starts at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow on the 32 Auctions website and Publicity Director Andrea Aikenhead says they will have lots of items up for grabs.
"It features many items including baby quilts, pillowcases, bags, purses, placemats, table runners and quilts of various sizes."
The auction ends at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Those who want to check out the items in person beforehand can stop by the Villages of Sally Creek Community Centre in Woodstock from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. today.
Aikenhead says all of the money raised will be put to good use.
"We use the money to buy materials to make quilts. Victoria's Quilts Canada provides free handmade quilts for people living with cancer in Canada."
The last online auction raised $8,000, and Aikenhead hopes to beat that goal.
You can find the auction online here. You can also visit the Victoria's Quilts website to learn more about the Woodstock/Oxford branch and request a quilt for a cancer fighter in your life. The quilts will be mailed or hand-delivered to the recipients.
