Woodstock Police and the Oxford OPP are joining forces for two days for a safety blitz around school zones.
WOODSTOCK/OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford OPP and Woodstock Police have launched Operation Zero in an attempt to curb bad driving on our roadways.
For the next two days officers will join forces for a safety blitz. Today officers from the OPP and Woodstock Police will be in the Friendly City patrolling school zones. On Thursday officers will focus on County roads and rural school zones.
Constable Stacey Culbert says they will be targeting bad driving habits.
"Obviously with back to school, this is going to be a great tie in, we want people to be aware that the enforcement teams are going to be out there and they are going to be looking for violations in those school zones. Speeding is going to be a big factor, anything else to do with the highway traffic act."
Both forces will be teaming up again in the winter for another safety traffic blitz.
